Four cans of Topo Chico Hard Seltzer variants

Topo Chico Hard Seltzer to Launch in Canada

10-11-2021

Topo Chico Hard Seltzer will make its Canadian debut in summer 2022, with Molson Coors Beverage Company handling production and distribution.

Topo Chico Hard Seltzer blends sparkling water and natural flavors, and is inspired by Topo Chico sparkling mineral water’s 125-year heritage, cult-like following and growing popularity as a craft cocktail mixer. Four flavors—Tangy Lemon Lime, Exotic Pineapple, Strawberry Guava and Tropical Mango—will be offered in variety packs and single-serve slim cans in select flavors.

Since launching this year in 16 U.S. cities, Topo Chico Hard Seltzer has climbed towards the top of the fast-growing hard seltzer category, occupying the No. 7 slot, according to IRI data for the week ending Sept. 5, 2021. The brand will roll out nationwide in summer 2022.

“For 12 months now, The Coca‑Cola Company and Molson Coors have developed a fruitful relationship to bring Topo Chico Hard Seltzer to market in North America,” said Dan White, Chief of New Revenue Streams, Coca‑Cola North America Operating Unit. “We remain focused on supporting Molson Coors as they bring Topo Chico Hard Seltzer to the Canadian market with speed, quality and efficiency, delivering a product that we know Canadians will love.”

Topo Chico Hard Seltzer was developed by a cross-functional, agile team of leaders from around the world, serving as an early proof point of The Coca‑Cola Company’s networked organizational model.

The product—which went from concept to commercialization in six months during the coronavirus pandemic—debuted in 2020 in select markets, starting with Mexico and Brazil. It has since launched across Europe, the United States, South Africa, China, Australia and Singapore.
