The Coca‑Cola Company and Local Bottler Support Jackson, MS Disaster Relief Efforts
09-15-2022
After heavy rains caused the Pearl River to flood and disrupt the local water treatment facility, the greater Jackson, MS community was left without water for drinking, cooking and plumbing. As the weeks long issue continues to affect Jackson residents, The Coca‑Cola System is providing support and resources where they’re needed most.
Together with our local bottler in the region, Clark Beverage Group, we’ve donated thousands of cases of water to the area. Many went to our nonprofit partners the American Red Cross, World Central Kitchen, and Good360 as they actively provide aid and relief throughout the city. Distribution will target at-risk, vulnerable communities and individuals most in need. Additional cases went to our bottler in Jackson to help support their associates.
The Coca‑Cola Company has awarded two $75K grants totaling $150K to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and the NAACP. UNCF will support the students, staff and families at local HBCU's affected by the flooding. NAACP will support relief efforts to help those impacted in Jackson and surrounding areas.
Together with our bottler, we’ll continue to stay close to the needs of our local communities in the Jackson area.
